It is the Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG Macro 1:1, yes. Handheld in not too much light. I have come to the conclusion that the Nikon D80 don’t do high ISO very good. Even in this picture, taken with ISO 200, there is a noticeable amount of noise. I might have pulled the settings a little hard in this one, but overall I’m not satisfied with the noise appearing in too many of my pictures. Therefore I’m considering upgrading to the Nikon D300 or even the D700.
Nice one I would like to see the focused area even more sharp
Did you blur the rest in Photoshop, or did you do it on the camera? And why is the reason that you only focused on that one part?
I wanted to have focus one just one spot. Not because that spot is more interesting than the rest (it’s just ice), but because it makes the image more interesting. When using a macro at 105mm the depth of field becomes very shallow, and it is seldom enough light.
I have not blurred the picture in Photoshop, this is all the result of the Sigma 105mm Macro lens. One of my favourite lenses for portraits as well.
So clean. Good idea to only have a section in focus. Is this the Micro 105mm?
