All it takes is patience and a little bit of luck. I took more than a hundred pictures that night. Less than ten pictures came out good. The rest are either almost just black, or had lightnings going out of the frame. Another option could be using either a black card between shots, or a lightning sensor to trigger the shutter.
This one I was really pleased with.
This is an amazing shot. The lightning is good – and is sort of the point – but we like the dramatic sky above it even more; you can actually see the “opening”.
Beautiful colors too!
Not to bad to end up with less than ten (at least that count as more than one!) good images after a stormy night!
I will most likely publish a few other images from the same night. As you know, this photoblog is still work-in-progress. As far I know, only a handful people know this blog even exist. When I have polished the blog a little more, that will hopefully change!
Congratulations on the new domain. Your pictures deserve more than a simple subdomain.
I will move this blog to its domain when I publish it for the masses. Hopefully I will have a name ready for it by then. Any suggestions are welcome.
Beautiful, I like the variety of colours of this dramatic sky.
Thanks, Bob. I really like this picture myself, although I’m not sure if I cropped it a bit much.
I’m only envious. Mine never turn out that way….
I allowed myself to pull a bit harder on the settings for this one. I think the purple sky gives the picture something extra.
Great colors . Truly amazing moment. Look like God was really angry that night.
Utrolig stilig! Sånt bilde vil jeg også ta!
Thanks, Simen! Forgive me for answering in English.
I’m currently looking into some translation plugins…
